As a tutor, my main focus is on helping students become self-sufficient by guiding them on how to work through their academic struggles and apply problem-solving techniques to achieve successful results. The old adage, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink," is a belief I hold true in tutoring. Students should be given a plan that fully engages their participation in their own development and accomplishment, and that's what I provide as an experienced tutor. I'm overjoyed when I see a student transform from confused and frustrated to understanding and accomplished.I've taught middle school and high school students for 12 years, and provided private piano instruction to students of all ages. My main focus in tutoring is English, Grammar, Literature, and Essay Writing, but I'm also skilled in other areas, including College Essay Writing, Music, and Art.My credentials include a bachelor's degree in Piano, a master's degree in Education focusing on Teaching and Learning, and an Artist Instructor certificate that allows me to teach art in Connecticut. I'm an avid student of Jujitsu, but also enjoy spending time spoiling my cat, Zoe, catching up on a good novel, and spending some time enjoying nature in the great outdoors.
